Ten Best Places to Eat in Milwaukee
Milwaukee is rich with culture, history, fun shops, lots of hidden gems, and of course good eats. As a Milwaukee native, I've been to restaurants all around the city. I enjoy all types of food and I'm willing to try anything once. Here is my list of my ten favorite places to eat in Milwaukee.
I tried this restaurant on my birthday last year. I didn't know what to expect and I was blown away by the quality of the dishes. Their impressive list of ceviches will dazzle, along with their complex Peruvian style dishes are sure to please. C-Viche's charming restaurant and patio space are perfect for a night out with the girls or simply a date-night. It's located in Bayview, WI, a swanky area, minutes from downtown Milwaukee, filled with Weekend Warriors.
Milwaukee Ale House is located in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee. The Ale House offers a menu of mostly American dishes. One of my favorite dishes at the Ale House is the Chicken Picatta and their large portioned Nachos are always a fan favorite. The Ale House also offers a generous list of beers and an inviting social scene with live music on select nights. My absolute favorite part of the Ale House is that it sits right on the river. It's the perfect place to have a beer with friends in the summer.
Ahhh, Steny's. Steny's Tavern is located in Walker's Point in Milwaukee. Steny's is a fairly large location but maintains small corner bar feel. Steny's offers some of the best bar food in the city. Their Rueben Rolls are my absolute favorite while my significant other fancies their wings. If you're looking for a laid back place to go with music, good food, and people; Steny's is it.
Remember when I said Milwaukee has hidden gems? This is definitely one of them. Barnacle Bud's is only open during the summer months due to their outside dining feature. Their great atmosphere, yummy drinks, and great seafood is sure to make your summer dining enjoyable.
If you're looking for great bar food, atmosphere and location; Jack's is the spot for you. I was introduced to Jack's a few years ago and from the moment I had it, I was in love. Some of my favorites on the menu include: The Ghostface Killah Burger (spicy), Phillies Roll, I'm a Mess (spicy), and of course the wings. Also, on Thursdays you can buy a pitcher of beer and get a FREE pizza. Not a bad exchange!
Some might argue that Belair is overrated, however; you can't beat their Taco Tuesday and Thursday menu. All of their locations are great for patio eating in the summer. Some of my favorites: Baja Tilapia and Korean Beef! This place is the perfect pregame to day drinking or happy hour spot.
I went to Red Light Ramen for the first time last year and fell in love. This is a cute little restaurant with only a few tables but their ramen packs big taste. This place is perfect for a date night in Milwaukee, if you like peace. Be ready to wait in line though!
Cafe Centraal is located in Bayview only minutes from C-Viche, mentioned above. This is one of my go to restaurants. I live really close to it and it's also very very yummy. The Bayview Burger is great! They also have some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!
The Public Market is a Milwaukee landmark. It's exactly what it sounds like. It's not a restaurant but it's filled with tons of shops of local vendors and things to eat on the inside. My favorite place in the Public Market is the St. Paul Fish Company. The crab cake and lobster roll are some of the best I've ever tasted!
10. The Knick
I went to The Knick for brunch once and I fell in love. The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent and so what the food. The menu has a great variety of food; ranging from seafood dishes to burgers!
These were my ten favorite places to eat in Milwaukee. What are some of your favorite places to eat in Milwaukee? I would love to try!
